I don't think he's trolling; the implication is that if you get the pop up at the game site you are in the first wave.
Reading it closely it doesn't say that (just that the app has been accepted), but it started showing up when the announcement was made to expect email on March 2. We'll see.

Waiting is killing me. I want to test this since I like this type of game, but I don't really like the options currently out there. 2 March is way too far away still.

Remember,
even if you are not in the initial invite wave...there will be more. So don't go counting yourself down and out if you don't receive an invite on March 2nd.
If you signed up, there is a good chance you will be receiving a code at some point!

I understand your point. I never knew that Alpha Testers had to apply for CBT. I thought they were automatically accepted.

No. It means there is a chance we won't make the first wave. I think it will depend on how the beta application was filled out and how quick you were to send it in once beta applications came out. Just my speculations however.

I think you misread there Pal. Your application has been accepted. That means WG will look at it and decide whether to send you an invite code or not.

Gawd you know I'm a sad bastard when I keep checking this board *knowing* that it's not til Monday.
Anyway, without the liberty to discuss anything that makes a difference about the game until then I'm reduced to grammar police. The pop up leaves the impression it does with some people (IMO) because of a single word: "After". They should have used "If". "After" usually means something that is certain to happen. "After I take my test I'll eat dinner." Whereas "If I take my test I'll eat dinner." means I may or may not take the test. Only if I do will I eat.
By saying "After your application is approved..." the reader is lulled into thinking that the application *will* be approved. The wording and the timing of the pop up - right after the message announcing 2-March - sure made me think it was a done deal and it was just a matter of waiting. Of course the message doesn't actually say that - the approval may or may not happen - in which case you won't receive a message. Or it may be approved later, so no 2-March for you either.
TL;DR Don't bother... go play another game and be patient!
