It's the rating system and how it factors in deck power etc. in determining whether you gain or lose points. Try looking in the general discussion forum... there's been plenty of threads there talking about this phenomenon and why it happens.

No. It shouldn't. What should matter is damage dealt, reesources used, and won/loss. Maybe a few other things
